Rent, buy or lease-to-own a water dispenser?
The water is the same either way. What changes is how long you commit, how you pay and who looks after the machine. A plain comparison, for businesses and homes in Thailand.

The short answer.
Rent if you want flexibility: any Minairal machine, Air or Pure, for 6 months or 1 year, with maintenance and filter changes included. Buy if you want to own the machine from day one: every purchase comes with a one-year warranty. Choose lease-to-own if you have a water line and want to own a Pure system while paying over 3, 5 or 7 years, with maintenance included.
Lease-to-own is offered on the Pure range only, the reverse osmosis water dispensers connected to the water line. The Air range, which makes water from the air, can be bought or rented. Whatever you choose, the same Minairal technicians install and service the machine.
Free one-week trial in Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Hua Hin, before you choose. Elsewhere in Thailand, we start with a site assessment.
The three formulas, side by side.
Same machines, same water, same technicians. Different terms.
| Buy | Rent | Lease-to-own | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Machines | Air and Pure | Air and Pure | Pure range only, on the water line |
| Commitment | A one-off purchase | 6 months or 1 year | 3, 5 or 7 years |
| Cover | One-year warranty | Machine covered for the whole rental | Machine covered for the whole term |
| Maintenance and filters | By Minairal technicians, under a service plan | Included | Maintenance included |
| The machine | Yours from day one | Used for the length of the rental | Yours at the end of the term |
| Prices | Home prices on the online shop; business quotes after a site assessment | Set in a written proposal | Set in a written proposal |
| Suits | Sites that prefer to own their equipment outright | A season, a project, a first year, or a site that may move | A site with a water line that plans to stay and wants to spread the cost |
Accessories are not rented separately. For homes, rental and lease-to-own are offered in Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Hua Hin. The full offer for businesses is on the rental and lease-to-own page.
Which one fits you.
Three typical profiles.
Buying for a home? Find the right machine in one minute on the online shop, then compare prices for Air and Pure machines.
Five questions to decide.
Answer these and the formula usually chooses itself.
How long will you be on this site?
A season or a year points to rental. Several years points to lease-to-own or a purchase.
Is there a water line where the water is needed?
Yes: Pure, which can be bought, rented or taken on lease-to-own. No: Air, which can be bought or rented. See Air or Pure.
Do you want to own the machine?
From day one: buy. At the end of the term: lease-to-own. Not at all: rent.
Do you want maintenance in the same contract?
Rental and lease-to-own include it. After a purchase, maintenance and filter changes are done by Minairal technicians under a service plan.
Do you want to try it first?
In Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Hua Hin, a free one-week trial on your site comes before any contract.
The service does not change with the contract.
Bought, rented or on lease-to-own, a Minairal machine is installed by Minairal technicians, who train your staff and come back for scheduled filter changes. The average response time is 4 hours.
Minairal is a Thai company with more than 700 systems installed, four stores, three service centres and technicians in eight cities: Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Phuket, Hua Hin, Krabi, Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Pattaya. Whatever the formula, the result is the same: drinking water with added minerals on tap, and no more bottles or jugs to order and carry.

Is it better to rent or buy a water dispenser in Thailand?
It depends on how long you will stay and how you prefer to pay. Renting, for 6 months or 1 year, includes maintenance and filter changes and keeps you flexible. Buying makes the machine yours from day one, with a one-year warranty. For several years on a site with a water line, lease-to-own a Pure system is a third way.
What is lease-to-own?
You use a Pure water dispenser and pay over 3, 5 or 7 years, with maintenance included and the machine covered for the whole term. At the end of the term, the machine is yours. Lease-to-own is offered on the Pure range only.
Can I lease-to-own an atmospheric water generator?
No. Lease-to-own is only for the Pure range, connected to the water line. Air machines, which make water from the air, can be bought with a one-year warranty or rented for 6 months or 1 year.
What does a rental include?
Installation, scheduled maintenance and filter changes by Minairal technicians, with the machine covered for the whole rental. Rentals run for 6 months or 1 year, on any Air or Pure machine.
Can I rent a hot and cold water dispenser for my home?
Yes, in Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Hua Hin, where rental, and lease-to-own on the Pure range, are offered to homes. Elsewhere, homes can buy a machine on the online shop.
How much does it cost to rent a water dispenser?
It depends on the machines, the number of points of use and the term, so business rates are set in a written proposal after the site assessment. Prices for homes are shown on the online shop.
