Minairal

Drinking water systems in Koh Samui and Koh Phangan.

Minairal is based in Bo Phut. The head office, the showroom and a service centre are on the island, so the team that assesses your site is the team that installs and maintains the system afterwards. Koh Phangan is served from Koh Samui.

What Minairal does in Koh Samui.

Minairal designs, installs and services drinking water systems that produce mineral water on site in Koh Samui, from ambient air or from the existing water line. One agreement covers the system from the first visit to the end of its life.

  1. Site assessment

We visit the site, count the users and the points of use, and check whether a reliable water connection exists. You receive a configuration, a capacity and a maintenance plan.

  2. Installation

Machines are checked and configured before delivery, then placed, connected and tested on site. Every installation ends with a report signed by both parties.

  3. Maintenance

Preventive checks, filter replacement and cleaning on schedule. The pre-filter is replaced every four to six months depending on the system, the other cartridges every twelve months, and TDS and pH are checked at each routine visit.

  4. Response

Technicians are on our payroll and parts are held at the Bo Phut centre. Same day in most cases, 48 hours at the latest.

Water on the island.

Mains water in Koh Samui is not intended to be drunk at the tap. As elsewhere in Thailand, depending on the season it can carry chlorine and its by-products, sediment and heavy metals, with a bacteriological risk wherever the network is old or intermittent.

Island networks add two constraints of their own: salinity, and pressure loss at peak demand. A system on the mains has to cope with both. A system that makes water from the air does not depend on the network at all.

Bottled water is the usual alternative, and on an island it is the hardest one to move. Every litre arrives by boat and then truck, is chilled on the way and leaves again as waste. At two litres a day in half-litre bottles, one person accounts for 1,460 bottles a year.

Air or Pure on Koh Samui.

The technology is decided at the site assessment. On the island, the first question is how far the water line can be trusted.

Air

An Air system condenses humidity from the air and treats it on site. It needs a power socket and no plumbing, so it suits sites where the connection is unreliable or pressure drops at peak times, and points of use far from any pipe. It also takes water delivery off the site entirely, which on an island is the largest effect.

Pure

A Pure system connects to the existing water line: five-stage reverse osmosis at 0.0001 micron, remineralisation, hot 90°C and cold 4°C. Output is stable, and installation takes under an hour. It suits kitchens, staff areas and any point of use with a dependable supply.

Is there a Minairal showroom in Koh Samui?

Yes. The head office and showroom are at 138/42 Moo 2, Tambon Bo Phut, Koh Samui, Surat Thani 84320. The Air and Pure ranges can be seen there before you decide. Hours are Monday to Saturday.

Do you install and service systems on Koh Phangan?

Yes. Koh Phangan is served from the Koh Samui service centre, by Minairal technicians and under the same agreement as sites on Koh Samui.

How fast does a technician reach a site in Koh Samui?

Same day in most cases, 48 hours at the latest. Technicians are on our payroll, two to five per service centre, and parts are held at the Bo Phut centre.

Is tap water in Koh Samui safe to drink?

Mains water is not intended to be drunk at the tap. It can carry chlorine and its by-products, sediment, heavy metals and bacteriological risk where the network is old or intermittent, and island networks add salinity and pressure loss at peak demand. Our guide to tap water in Koh Samui covers the options.

Which works better on the island, Air or Pure?

It depends on the site. Air needs no water connection and keeps producing when the network does not. Pure filters the existing line and gives a stable output.

The choice is made at the site assessment, on four questions: the water connection, the daily volume, the space and the need for continuity.

Elsewhere in the network.

Three service centres with parts held in each, and coverage across four provinces.
