The price of an atmospheric water generator in Thailand depends mainly on how many litres it makes a day, whether it serves hot and cold water, how the water is filtered and remineralised, and what installation and maintenance include. Running costs are electricity, about 370 to 500 watts while producing, and filter changes once or twice a year. Against bottled mineral water at about ฿26 a litre in 0.5 L bottles, a machine pays for itself through the litres it makes. Current Minairal prices are on the Minairal shop.

What decides the price of an atmospheric water generator?

Five things set the price tag, and they are the same whichever supplier you talk to.

  • Daily output. A machine that condenses more litres a day needs a larger compressor, a larger condenser and a larger tank. In the Minairal range, the Air Top makes 13 L a day on average, the Air Stand 16 L a day on average and the Air Stand Pro 22 L a day on average, with 30 L maximum. Averages are given for relative humidity between 30% and 80% at an average temperature of 25°C.
  • Hot and cold. A heating element and a cooling circuit add cost. The Air Top and Air Stand serve hot and cold water; the Air Stand Pro serves cold water only.
  • Filtration and remineralisation. Condensed water is close to distilled water. The price covers the cartridges that filter it, the UV protection and the stage that restores calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium so the water tastes like mineral water. Details are on the Air range page.
  • Format. A counter-top unit costs less than a floor-standing one with a larger tank and a larger air intake.
  • Installation and service. Delivery, positioning, a first explanation to the people who will use it, and the maintenance agreement that follows. A price that includes a technician on call is not the same as a price for a box.

How much electricity does a water from air machine use?

A Minairal Air machine draws about 370 to 500 watts while it is condensing water. It stops when the tank is full and runs longer when the air is dry, so the hours vary with the room and the season.

The arithmetic is simple. A machine drawing 400 watts for 24 hours uses 9.6 kWh. Multiply that by the rate per kWh printed on your electricity bill to get the daily cost, then divide by the litres made that day. In a humid room near the coast the machine fills its tank in fewer hours than in an air-conditioned office, so the cost per litre is lower.

What does maintenance cost over the years?

Filters are the only consumable. On the Air range the pre-filter is changed every 6 months and the other cartridges every 12 months, by Minairal technicians who also check the tank, the UV and the mineral stage during the visit. Cartridge prices are on the shop, and businesses receive a service plan with the site assessment.

There is nothing else to buy: no bottles, no delivery fee, no storage for pallets of water, and no water bill for the drinking water itself, because the machine takes it from the air.

What does bottled water cost per litre in Thailand?

This site uses two litres per person per day and average retail prices for natural mineral water at Thai retailers in October 2026: ฿13 for a 0.5 L bottle and ฿23 for a 1.5 L bottle. The table shows what that means over a year.

Who drinks0.5 L bottles at ฿13 (฿26 a litre)1.5 L bottles at ฿23 (about ฿15 a litre)
One person, 2 L a day฿18,980 a year, 1,460 bottles฿11,193 a year, 487 bottles
Family of four฿75,920 a year, 5,840 bottles฿44,773 a year, 1,947 bottles
Site of 50 people฿949,000 a year, 73,000 bottles฿559,650 a year, 24,333 bottles

You can change the prices and the number of people on the impact calculator, which also counts the plastic and the water used to produce the bottles.

How do you compare the cost per litre?

Add the price of the machine, the filters over the period you choose and the electricity, then divide by the litres it produces. An Air Stand making 16 L a day on average produces about 5,840 litres a year; an Air Top making 13 L a day on average, about 4,745 litres; an Air Stand Pro making 22 L a day on average, about 8,030 litres.

Set that against the bottled water budget for the same people and the same years. For a household of four buying 0.5 L bottles, the bottled budget is close to ฿76,000 a year before the machine has produced its first litre. The comparison also counts what does not show on an invoice: 5,840 bottles a year that are not shipped to the island, not stored and not thrown away.

Where do you see the exact price?

Residential prices for the Air Top, Air Stand and Air Stand Pro, with filters and accessories, are published on shop.minairal.com and delivered and installed by Minairal technicians in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Phuket, Hua Hin and Bangkok. For a hotel, an office, a restaurant or a villa, the price follows a site assessment, because the number and placement of machines depends on where people actually drink.

Frequently asked questions.

Is a cheaper machine with a higher litres-a-day figure a better deal?

Only if the figure is an average measured in conditions like yours. A maximum reached in a test chamber says little about a Thai living room with the air conditioning on, so ask for the average and the humidity range it applies to.

Does the price include installation?

At Minairal, yes: delivery, positioning, a first filling and an explanation to the people who will use the machine are part of the price. Ask any supplier to state this in writing, together with who changes the filters and at what cost.

Can I try an atmospheric water generator before buying?

Yes. Minairal offers a free one-week trial for businesses and homes in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Phuket, Hua Hin and Bangkok, and the machine is installed and collected by our technicians.

To see one working in your own kitchen or lobby before deciding, request the free one-week trial.
